An idea born of experience. The creation of Bives Limited is the result of a deep understanding of the challenges faced by delivery drivers and couriers on a daily basis. As a transport operator with years of experience in parcel and courier services, I noticed in 2014 that many drivers were modifying their gloves by cutting off the tips of their index fingers and thumbs. I asked them why they did this. The answer was both simple and shocking:
“There are no gloves that make our lives easier.”
They explained to me that there were no special gloves for these requirements. The reason for their modification was to improve the handling of scanners and touchscreen phones. As a transport operator in the parcel and courier service, I knew this wasn't an isolated case.
This discovery prompted me to conduct intensive research to see if there was already a glove specifically for delivery workers anywhere in the world – and it turned out: There wasn't. Thus, the idea for Bives Limited was born.
Chapter 2
The Discovery – A Vision is Born
This realization sparked a desire to find a solution. I spoke with numerous delivery drivers and industry professionals to determine the requirements an ideal pair of delivery gloves would have to meet. The list of requirements grew.
Free fingertips for touchscreens. Water-repellent yet breathable. Grip. Self-luminous elements for nighttime use. Integrated pen for signatures. Bandages to prevent tendonitis and stabilize joints.
It soon became clear to me: The market desperately needed a glove that was not only functional but also considered the wearer's comfort and health. Thus, the vision for Bives Limited was born. But how do you combine all of this in one glove?
Chapter 3
The path into the unknown – innovative and courageous
In the summer of 2022, I finally summoned all my courage and financial reserves to establish Bives Limited in Turkey. With a clear vision in mind, I set up a tailoring shop, hired a team of experienced seamstresses, and equipped the workshop with the appropriate sewing machines specifically designed for processing high-quality, flexible, and water-repellent fabrics. This enabled us to develop the first prototypes.
The key to our success was choosing the right material—an ultra-thin, water-repellent fabric that's antibacterial and flexible enough to feel like a second skin. After intensive testing and challenges, I finally found the ideal fabric supplier.
Innovation that inspires: More than just a glove Our goal was clear: to develop a glove that was not only functional, but also durable and comfortable. With each new design, we focused on innovative technologies and materials that facilitate handling under extreme conditions. A particular milestone was the integration of silicone, which ensures a secure grip – even in the toughest work situations.
I am particularly proud of our night visibility technology.
A special silicone that charges in light—whether daylight, artificial light, or sunlight—and provides additional safety at night by glowing, thus increasing visibility in the dark. This makes the glove an important safety feature.
But we wanted even more: To support the comfort and health of delivery workers, we integrated bandages into the design. These bandages distribute pressure evenly and protect against tendonitis by relieving strain on the wrist and hand muscles. They also serve multiple functions while wearing the gloves.
They ensure a better fit, prevent slipping, and offer additional stability during long work shifts. Thus, we create not just a product, but a solution that protects the body while improving performance.
I'm especially proud of the final design. The palms are decorated with unique, microscopic patterns that mimic natural fingerprints. The result is an unparalleled grip that feels as if you're holding the packages right in your hand.
But the path to achieving this was anything but easy. We spent months experimenting with different methods to optimally transfer the silicone to the palms of the gloves. Initially, we tried simple patterns like dashes, dots, and lines, but something was missing. Some designs didn't offer enough grip, others were uncomfortable or wore out too quickly.
One day, a crucial idea came to me: Why not take nature as a model? I examined the human hand under a microscope and recognized the fine, complex structures of the palm. These tiny grooves and patterns are perfectly designed for a secure grip, so we applied this principle to the gloves.
The result is more than just a design: it is a sophisticated, ergonomic coating that reinforces the hand's natural grip, ensures maximum grip, and feels like a second skin.
Chapter 4
A product that offers more than just functionality.
After years of intensive work and countless setbacks, the first prototype of the Bives Limited glove was finally ready for market. We worked extremely hard on this product, constantly questioning every step and constantly improving it to achieve the best possible result. No detail was left to chance; every aspect of the design was perfected to create a product that is not only functional but also of the highest quality.
Today, Bives Limited stands for innovation and the highest precision. Our gloves are not just a practical tool, but a sophisticated solution to the daily challenges faced by delivery workers worldwide. SIM RACING
After the Bives Limited Gloves were released, we received increasingly positive feedback from the sim racing community. It turned out that the gloves were virtually ideal for this application—for several reasons.
First, the exposed tips of the thumb and index finger provide tremendous precision and control, which are crucial when driving in simulated races. Users reported feeling a direct connection to the steering wheel without any padding or fabric restricting movement.
This fine motor skill is especially important in demanding racing scenarios where quick reactions and precise control are required. Furthermore, customers have reported that using a keyboard and mouse is much more convenient with the thumbs and index fingers free.
Secondly, the special bandage technology ensures a secure fit and reduces fatigue during long sessions. It fits perfectly around the wrist and provides additional comfort, especially during intense sim racing sessions.
Another plus point is the excellent grip. The fabric, combined with the open fingertips, ensures consistent grip regardless of temperature or perspiration, guaranteeing maximum precision even in the most demanding scenes.
Given this success and increasing popularity, we launched the Bives Limited Racing League, a dedicated sim racing league that allows drivers to compete in an exclusive competition wearing our gloves. Today, the Bives Limited Gloves are not just a fashion trend in sim racing, but an essential piece of equipment for many drivers who rely on flexibility, precision, comfort, and grip.
